Amelia Lily Wears Dress From Rock My Vintage - Prom-tastic

We are literally in hyperventilating stages of happiness. On Sunday's show, Amelia Lily wore the gorgeous Lily prom dress that she asked to borrow from us. She loved it so much she wore it for the live results and was the first to get voted to stay in! Whilst this meant we saw less of the dress we are so happy she loves what we have to offer at Rock My Vintage. This TBA dress is just divine rocking both the fetish and prom trends that are storming this season. You can rock the EXACT same dress too.....

Heavy Metal Part 1

As a staunch believer in all things soft, seductive and generally vintage inspired, I have been a bit perplexed when it comes to adding anything that reminds me of nuts and bolts to my outfit. I am constantly reminded of my chainmail related disaster of 2000 and still shudder at the thought.

However, with the Autumn Winter metallic trend in full flow, I have forced myself to reconsider my aversion and to try and embrace the vibe. I have to admit, it has been tough but I am genuinely now a convert and found it relatively easy to combine this metal sheen with every day looks. Here is a two - part overview of how to work it without bordering on the Tin Man.

Day Time

Unless you work somewhere where you can wear gold leggings to work, this can be tricky but the safest way to bring shimmer into the office is through hair accessories. I am literally obsessed with this gold embellished hair band from New Look which goes with everything and provides an understated take on the trend.

Clearly jewellery is a no-brainer but think outside the box and add glitter or pearl sheen to make things more interesting. How about these glitter ivy earrings and bracelet from cult brand Tatty Devine to take on the wild nature trend too?!

Softly Softly

You may have noticed a slightly softer approach to tailoring and the lines of dresses on the catwalks this season. We adore this curvaceous loveliness not least because it hides a multitude of sins! The fashion pros, as always, have done it to the extreme including bubble like dresses with no structure looking almost like they have forgotten to complete the design or lamp shade style skirts that are high on impact! For those of us who have to walk to work or sit down on a bus, there is an easier way to work the look. Focus on bubble hem lines, origami inspired skirts or work it via a winter curved cape. Softly, Softly catchy fashion.
