CAN WE THINK ABOUT SPRING YET? THANKS TO TIGHTS WE CAN!

The short answer is yes, and we better start before this cold snap saps our sartorial super powers! It feels like a long Winter but we have decided that the New In Collection at Rock My Vintage can totally be rocking it now - giving two fingers to the frost in the process.

THANKS TO TIGHTS - the best invention known to man and toe, these darling deniers are your early spring saviour. They can take a skimpy 1920s dress out when it's below freezing or keep your tea dress toasty during the dreary days.

TWINKLING TWENTIES IN TIGHTS

Pick a lower denier for nights out to keep things sexy like with this black and gold flapper dress. Heist are our favourite brand, as you literally cannot pull or nick them and they have no seams for, well, a seamless finish.

For day, we love a coloured cable knit for a retro, cosy and kooky kind of look. Cream is our go-to colour as it works wonders with florals, stripes and even a silky wrap dress like this one too!

TOP TEA DRESSING WITH TIGHTS

So, check out our new in dresses, forget the weather outside and turn to tights to give you back shopping and dressing options throughout the season.

THE DREADED "IN-BETWEEN SEASONS" BIT AND HOW TO NAIL IT!

It's the time of the year when we don't know whether to shed our Winter layers and shave our legs or put a puffer on and continue to hibernate. Shopping is a nightmare, what should I buy in the Sales? Is it a waste of money?

We are here to help with the low-down on how to buy for this weird time of year, keep your vintage style and make your money work hard for you.

1. Buy a 1920s dress for going out.

It's simple - you still go dancing whatever the weather and, usually, abandon all rational thought process around covering up anyway! That's where the 1920s style dress comes in a dream. Full of sparkle, personality and general all round vintage wonder, these flapper inspired dresses are a key and stable wardrobe piece that you can turn out in Spring with lighter shades of jewellery to keep them fresh. This black and gold 1920s dress is a perfect example of transitional evening dressing.

2. Buy a tran-seasonal colour.

It may not be the best shout to buy a dark forest green dress when lighter days are on the horizon so stick to a colour-way that will work in a few months time. Think brighter tones or patterns like this vintage prom dress and you are all set for months ahead.

3. Think layers.

'Tis the season for tights, sheer ankle socks and even stockings (the catwalks told us so) so invest in some cool layers and add a fur stole or kooky cardi to keep you warm, then abandon at will when it warms up. Tea dresses, like this quirky yellow number, are an ideal contender so invest now and you will still be rocking it in June.

So, you can dress for all seasons with the help of a few clever tips and remember that the safest investment is an evening dress that can be worn all year round. Our money is always on a 1920s dress, as it will never go out of style and the bling will always bring happiness!
